Anchoring Sikkim’s new youth culture.
When Sikkim’s first modern shopping centre was conceived, the ambition went beyond retail. The founders wanted a cultural hub where shopping, community and creative expression could coexist and evolve together. Lazy Eight joined at day zero to give that vision a name, an identity and a system that could guide people through it intuitively.
We built a brand language inspired by the energy of Gangtok’s streets. Confident sans typography, vibrant gradients and motion cues drawn from dance and downhill skating create a sense of momentum and youth. The system was designed to live everywhere. From billboards and hoardings to elevator wraps and parking pillars, every surface reinforces a single, coherent rhythm across the space.
Digital extends that energy beyond the building. The website uses scroll driven pacing, oversized type and flickbook style imagery to surface stores, events and local collaborations in just a few interactions. Social templates and motion assets power launch campaigns, while performance driven creatives focus on footfall without diluting the brand’s playful tone.
Today Westpoint is more than Sikkim’s first shopping centre. It has become a marker of the region’s forward facing identity, showing how commercial spaces can act as cultural anchors when place, youth and design are aligned with intent.
